Who is this course for?
This course is designed to provide the learner with the understanding, knowledge and practical skills required to provide and coordinate first aid in the workplace in compliance with the requirements of the HSA and PHECC.
Course Content:
- Chain of survival (Adults, Infants & Children)
- The four major threats – Heart Attack, Stroke, Cardiac Arrest, Foregin body airway obstruction
- AED -(Automated External defibrillator) use
- Aspirin
- Incident Management
- Cardiac Emergencies
- Patient Assessement
- Injury management and shock
- Care of unconscious patient
- Burns and Electrical injuries
- Poisonings
- Common Medical Emergencies
Assessment:
Learners will be assessed through Skills Demonstrations and Multiple Choice Question Paper

This course incorporates the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Councils Cardiac First Response Course

Cardiac First Response – Instructor – GALWAY
28th & 29th August 2017
These dates are the didactic Instructor Training portion of the course.
This must be followed with between 3 and 5 days of assisting and
monitored teaching practise in our institution to attain certification, dates will be subject to availability.

This fee includes the follow up training of observation and monitoring teaching days plus, if successful, two year instructor certification.
