General Aims of Emergency First Responder:
This Emergency First Responder (EFR) PHECC Accredited course is delivered by the Irish Ambulance Training Institute and is aimed at those wishing to up-skill from previous training undertaken and those who wish to pursue a course which covers a greater range of knowledge and skills in more depth than introductory courses. The Emergency First Responder course is the recommended starting point to develop a career in the Pre Hospital Emergency Care field.
Method of Delivery
The Emergency First Responder (EFR) PHECC Accredited course will be delivered through both theory lectures and practical skills sessions. Throughout the course continious assessment will be employed to ensure progression and to enhance students knowledge and skills.
6 Days (09:30 - 17:00 each day)
The assessment for the Emergency First Responder (EFR) PHECC Accredited course will be split between theory examinations and practical skills demonstrations (OSCE's).
This Emergency First Responder (EFR) course is accredited by PHECC (Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council), certificates awarded to successful learners are outlined below:
- PHECC Cardiac First Responder Certificate*
- PHECC Emergency First Responder Certificate
*The first day of this course covers Cardiac First Responder, it is necessary to complete this before the Emergency First Response course. If you are a PHECC certified Cardiac First Responder (CFR) with a current in-date PHECC CFR certificate you may be exempt from this day of the course. Please enquire about this on booking.
